Xiaomi has been rumoured to be working on a successor to the Xiaomi MIX 2 bezel-less smartphone, to be named as Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S. The smartphone which was about to come out was supposed to be called as MI MIX 3 if considered the usual lineup nomenclature paradigm. However, the next smartphone is Mi MIX 2S, and its almost every hardware specifications are out so far. Now, the company has started sending out invitations for the official release of the smartphone, set on 27th March, which means we are only a few days away from the official debut date.
So far, the official launch date was not entirely sure, and we were expecting the smartphone to the early-April. It is better for the Chinese brand to schedule the release date for this month, as they have to ake the debut of Mi 7 flagship smartphone very soon after the Mi MIX 2S. A Weibo user “Daimoi” posted the press invitation images.
Xiaomi’s Mi MIX 2 has won the iF 2018 Designs Award with its bezel-less unique design. So, with the better design of Mi MIX 2s, the company is expected to grab another higher position by next year. Surprisingly, it found that the smartphone will not at least have a display notch on the top to say “bezel”. The front facing camera sensor will be placed either at the bottom or at a pop-up module on the top edge.
The device will be powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, has 6GB RAM onboard. As per the invitation letters, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will see the light on 27th March in China, but not sure about the release date for the other countries.
