OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T gets Android Pie with OxygenOS beta

OnePlus was one of the few OEM’s that was part of the Android P Beta program when it was announced, As for OnePlus they have always been working closely with the developer community and their fans constantly to improve the OxygenOS and push the Android updates even faster. The OnePLus 6 and 6T have been running Android Pie for a while now, but the previous generation were still on Oreo. Today, the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T got an OTA to OxygenOS Open Beta 22 based on Android Pie 9.0

    • Now able to assign a specific SIM for a specific contact or group of contacts when using dual SIM

    • Added support for more apps (Telegram, Discord, IMO, Uber, OLA) in parallel apps
  • Weather
    • Now able to switch dynamically to your current location
    • Display more suggestions when the search function is used
    • Fixed an issue that prevented the app from refreshing when the location is changed
    • Fixed an issue that resulted in some users being unable to find certain locations

Earlier OnePlus had released Android Pie based HydrogenOS ( which is a chinese torned down variant of the OxygenOS) and we knew days of OxygenOS getting upgraded to the Pie base weren’t too far! Android Pie brings in a bucketload of changes to the OnePlus 5 and 5T including a new re-designed UI, updated gestures (for OnePlus 5T),Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness and a lot more.
