Asus releases FOTA update for the Zenfone Max Pro M1 devices

The Taiwanese technology giant, Asus has announced their latest software update for their midrange smartphone model Zenfone Max Pro M1. The new update has just started rolling out to the users globally and you will receive it anytime soon. The new software version focuses on performance and overall user experience on the device. There won’t be any changes to the visible interface of the software. 

The latest FOTA version is OPM1.WW_Phone-15.2016.1811.338-20181206 and you can download it now. The update rolls out today 12:30 PM (IST) batch by batch. You will get an update notification by noon, today. Otherwise, you can manually check for the new update in settings. 

The changelog of the update mainly include Update Google Security patch to November, Improve Wi-Fi hotspot compatibility, Improve 3rd party app compatibility (Instagram), Optimize power consumption, Improve camera performance on video recording, and Optimize the audio experience via headphones. Overall, the update improves the user experience and performance of the device.

The new Zenfone Max Pro M1 comes with a 5.99-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080) IPS display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 450 nits brightness. It has a 2.5D arc-glass panel on its top. The display is very expansive and looks fabulous. It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 64-bit octa-core CPU (8 x Kryo 260 cores) with Adreno 509GPU. The Snapdragon 636 mobile platform is built with 14nm FinFET technology and favours in battery life and gaming performance.
