These days, the “Gaming smartphones” has become another category, apart from the top-tier flagships or premium range devices. Gaming smartphones are specially made to run so hard, with high rendering and withstanding capability which even comes far above than a usual flagship smartphone. Following the Razr phone and Xiaomi’s BlackShark, ZTE’s Nubia just launched a new gaming phone named Red Magic. The smartphone has a robust level of hardware specifications onboard, covered up with an elegant design style.
Several features make the smartphone a neu plus ultra of gaming devices ever launched. Before we discuss the smartphone’s unique features, let us dive into the hardware specifications embedded in the Nubia Red Magic.

Nubia Red Magic Top Features
The Nubia Red Magic gaming smartphone has a honeycomb-inspired design all over the rear (hexagon) even the camera sensor. There is only one single camera unit on the rear panel, but it alone has a 24MP resolution. Also, the flashlight is enclosed within a hexagonal shape. There are five openings on the rear, which four of them act as heat vent (we’ll discuss it under another title) and the centre one is a customizable illuminating strip. The dual antenna bands are marked on the metal unibody panel, on top and bottom edges.
Well, the Nubia’s gaming smartphone has a trendy 18:9 screen. Even though the company does not peddle much in the device promos, the display has a refresh rate of 120Hz, which is not present in Xiaomi BlackShark. In case you are not aware, the display with higher refresh rate can reduce the screen flickering and frame skips during high-end games on smartphones.
While the Xioami introduced an entirely innovative water cooling system, Nubia comes up with a much-advanced system of Air Cooling. The smartphone does not have any exhaust fans for the air cooling, but four vents are opened against the so-called heat sink which will reduce the heat during gaming.
Like in the Blackshark, the Red Magic gaming smartphone does also possess an extra button that turns your smartphone entirely into a portable gaming station. It will bring as much hardware performance to the specific game that is being played and will block calls, messages and notifications if necessary.
When the Nubia teased the smartphone for the first time, we all have been expecting a top-specced smartphone with all latest hardware components attached. But, the smartphone has last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 instead of the most recent Snapdragon 845. It is a drawback when considering the powerful, latest chipset on a device. The memory amount helps in attaining hassle-less multitasking, but the unexpandable auxiliary storage isn’t that helpful, though.
The smartphone’s design pattern is much contemporary, as well as sleek in nature. There are no stereo speakers on similar technologies implemented. So, you cannot consider it as a daily driver for 2018-2019 with its little bit outdated hardware. However, the device could be a killer in terms of gaming performance.
