Lenovo-owned Motorola now released a new update to its older Moto Z Play smartphone. As you know, the company does not have a good profile in releasing proper software upgrades for older devices. Now, the Moto Z Play smartphones receive Android 8.0 Oreo update in India. The update process has just rolled out, and it is only available in India. If you are an Indian with Moto Z Play, you should now receive the upgrade notification on your phone.
The build number is OPN27.76-12-22 and the update is about 1.12GB in size. There’s no official changelog as of yet, but you can expect Oreo improvements such as picture-in-picture mode, notification channels, and adaptive icons. In addition to the software upgrade, it contains April Android security patches as well. Overall it makes a divine upgrade for the Moto Z Play users. The update weighs more than 1 GB in size, so, you are advised to download it over a Wi-Fi connection for faster speed and to avoid incurring any extra charges on your mobile data. If you don’t see an update notification yet, check it by going to Settings > System updates menu.
