Honor Open Source Program lets developers to work with AI-powered Honor View 10 ROMs

Honor, today, has announced an Open Source Program for developers and Custom ROM builders with several packages made open source and easy-to-use. The company provides Kernel Sources and APIs (Application Programming Interface) to make the Custom ROM building easier for Honor View 10. Wondering why the company would start a special program for this smartphone only and not to other devices? Honor View 10 comes with several sets of AI-based software (as well as hardware) technology in-built which currently comply with the Stock ROM of the device only.

By the release of the source code for Kernel and AI API, developers will get to an understanding about the smartphone AI-technology and how it is implemented in an orderly way. Thus same can be applied to the newly released custom made ROMs for the Huawei Honor View 10 smartphone. According to Honor “We are opening the AI source and bootloaders for the Honor View 10 to developers to be able to have access not only the AI APIs, but also root and give the opportunity ROMs.” Means, developers can make use of the Facial Unlock, AI-Accelerated Translator, Smart Tips, etc.
