Xiaomi has unveiled the successor variant devices of Mi 5 in China, Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus. Both the devices are shelled inside metal unibody with brushed metal finish horizontally, and curved rear edges.
Xiaomi Mi 5s
Xiaomi Mi 5s is a powerful flagship device, features a 5.15 inch Full HD Display, with pressure sensitivity (3D Touch) on higher end variant. Under the hood, the device boasts Snapdragon 821 Chipset, with 3GB and 4GB Variant, with 64/128GB Storage options. It sports a large 12 MP rear camera of 1/2.3-inch size and f/2.0 apertute, which can beat iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7 according to Xiaomi. The 4 Mega Pixel , 2μm sized larger front camera is also having aperture of f/2.0. The front mounted Ultra Sonic Fingerprint sensor is fast to move in, hard to fake. The connectivity side includes 3xCA network connectivity feature, with Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band Wi-Fi, and NFC. The battery is juiced up with 3200mAh, with QuickCharge 3.0 support.
Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus
Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus is yet another powerful device, with 5.7 inches with Full HD resolution. Mi 5s Plus also powered with the Snapdragon 821 and same RAM amounts of 3GB/4GB and storage options of 64GB/128GB. The main highlight is the dual camera sensors mounted vertically on the rear panel, with one dedicated for image processing as Huawei does in P9. One captures the colored one while the other stands for Monochrome. Xiaomi has released some stunning sample images too along with the event press release. The front camera is the same 4MP one in Mi 5s. The battery gets upgraded ghere to 3800mAh. The fingerprint scanner of Mi 5s Plus is mounted on the rear panel.
Xiaomi Mi5 is priced at RMB 1999 (~$299) for the 3GB/64GB model and RMB 2299 (~$344) for the 4GB/128GB variant. The Mi 5s Plus costs RMB 2299 (~$344) for the 3GB/64GB model and RMB 2599 (~$389) for the 4GB/128GB model. Both tyhe devices will be available in four color options – Silver, Grey, Gold and Rose Gold.
