Sony begins rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo for Xperia XZ and XZs

Japanese giant Sony Corporation has officially started rolling out the latest Android firmware Oreo version 8.0 to their smartphones recently. In the context, two more Xperia smartphones besides are now getting the Android Oreo update directly from the company Over-The-Air – Xperia XZ and XZs. The update weighs approximately 1.2GB in size, and available to download and upgrade globally.

With the new android Oreo update, both the smartphone users will get every standard Android oreo based features, plus some extra tweaks added by the company itself. The current build number version on most Sony Xperia XZ and Xperia XZs smartphones is 41.2.A.7.76, which will be changed to 41.3.A.0.401 after the update. The same firmware is expected to release to more devices including Xperia X Performance soon.

Sony Xperia XZ was launched back in September last year in case you recall. The smartphone has a 5.2-inch FHD display, powered with Snapdragon 820 and 3GB of RAM. The device packs a 23MP rear camera along with 13MP selfie snapper. On the other hand, the Xperia XZs which was debuted earlier this year has almost the same specifications on paper, but with 4GB RAM and 19MP rear snapper.

Have a check on the settings panel for the update if you are owning a Xperia XZ or Xperia XZs. MAke sure that your smartphone has at least 60% battery charge remaining while updating.
