Samsung launches Galaxy S9 and S9+ in India, starts at Rs. 57,900

Samsung launched their latest flagship smartphone in S-series, the Galaxy S9, and the S9+ in MWC last week. Now, the company has made both the smartphone official in India. Even while the company had unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S8 in global market last year, the Samsung India introduced the device within a couple of weeks, and the same happens this time too. Apart from the early launch, the company had already begun taking pre-orders for the smartphones from last through their official website. Those who have already finished pre-ordering the smartphones will be the ones to get the device on hands early in the country.

Samsung Galaxy S9 comes with a 5.8-inch sAMOLED infinity display having a resolution of QHD+. The device is powered with the Samsung’s in-house Exynos 9910 Chipset, coupled with four gigs of RAM onboard. Only the two variants with the storage capacity of 64GB and 256GB have launched in the country and will be upgradable up to 400GB via SD Card. The rear single lens rear camera has a dual aperture of f/1.5 and f/2.4. The 12MP primary sensor supports super slow motion videos at 960FPS. Samsung has also added an AR Emoji feature in the smartphone software, which could defeat the Apple’s Animoji.

On the other hand, the Galaxy S9+ is an upgraded version of Galaxy S9, having a 6GB of RAM and a 6.2-inch display. The smartphone sports a dual-lens on the rear, the auxiliary one of 2x zooming and Dual OIS Capability. The smartphones have a fingerprint scanner, iris scanner and a new face recognition feature on the side of security.

The harness of data transmission has been improved up to 2.5x times than any other smartphone, in partnership with Reliance Jio and Bharati Airtel, says Samsung. The company also introduced Samsung Rewards in the country for the first time, a loyalty program which gives away reward points as even cash for UPI, e-wallet or Card transactions.

The pricing for the Galaxy S9 starts from Rs. 57,900 for 64GB, Rs. 65,900 for 256GB and the S9+ is priced at Rs. 64,900 and the higher variant with 256GB storage priced at Rs. 72,900. Available colour options are Lilac Purple, oral Blue, and Midnight Black.

The smartphone is available from Airtel Online STore at a downpayment of Rs. 9,900 and the monthly payment of Rs. 2499 for 24 months, yearly special data offer from Vodafone at Rs. 4999. with 2TB Data plan. There will be free one-year Netflix plan, You can get a cashback of Rs. 6000 by scanning Paytm Mall Rewards QR Code via Samsung store and HDFC Card.

You can now still pre-order the smartphone from the official Samsung India website or Flipkart from Noon 2 PM today onwards and Airtel Online Store. The devices will be shipped to those who have pre-ordered the smartphones by March 16.
