Panasonic Eluga Ray 500 and Eluga Ray 700 unveiled in India

Panasonic launched their new smartphones in the segment of affordable smartphones in India. The Eluga Ray 500 and Eluga Ray 700 were launched in India yesterday. Both the phones are simply daily use smartphones at a budget range of cost. This two siblings from Eluga series offers stock Android experience and must note that both of them come with a fingerprint scanner. Moreover, Eluga 500 is introduced with a dual camera setup on the back.

Highlighting Specifications of Eluga Ray 500 and Eluga Ray 700

As you are going to see, both handsets are identical in case of specifications. Eluga Ray 500, as well as Ray 700, supports fingerprint security, where the scanner is kept under the Home Button. Also, they come out of the box with Stock Android 7.0 Nougat, which will be clean from any bloatware.

Here come the differences. The Camera of both devices is entirely different in its arrangement and feature set. The Eluga Ray 500 features a dual camera setup comprising of a 13-megapixel sensor with an 8-megapixel sensor, a dual LED flash in the rear. Meanwhile, the Eluga Ray 700 is placed with a single 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. When coming to the selfie shooter, the Eluga Ray 500 consist of 5 -megapixel selfie shooter, while the Eluga Ray 700 comes with a 13-megapixel sensor. By this, the Ray 700 might be specialized for selfie snaps.

Discussion on the performance and other features, both of them are Dual SIM supporting smartphones.The Eluga Ray 500 sports a 5-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels on an IPS on Cell Display. And it is powered by MediaTek MTK6737 Quad Core SoC with a clock speed of 1.25 GHz. Meanwhile, the Eluga Ray 700 comes with a larger 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Also, Ray 700 is a step up from the Ray 500 as its chipset is an Octa-Core MediaTek MTK6753 SoC clocked at 1.3 GHz. Memory and storage options are similar; 3GB RA coupled with 32GB Storage.

Price and Availability

Panasonic Eluga Ray 500 costs Rs. 8,999 in India with Champagne Gold, Marine blue and Mocha Gold colour options. And the Eluga Ray 700 is priced at Rs. 9,999 and have the same colour options as the Ray 500. Both of them are available for online purchases, exclusively on Flipkart starting on September 21 at 12 AM IST. Sale of these devices coincides with Flipkart’s Big Billion Days Sale which going to rock from the coming Wednesday. Flipkart is also offering an extra 5 percent off on Axis Bank Buzz Credit Cards.
