Oxygen OS 5.0 With Android 8.0 Oreo Update is now available for the OnePlus 3 and 3T devices

OnePlus 3 series users were eagerly waiting for the Android Oreo update for their smartphones. Now, the official OnePlus forum has confirmed that the much awaited update is rolling out to the OnePlus 3 and 3T users across the globe. The new update carries the Oxygen OS version 5.0 with Android 8.0 Oreo. The update is now available as OTA for all users. At the same time, the forum confirms that the same update will hit OnePlus 5 series after few weeks.

The official forum has also announced the key changes brought in by the OxygenOS 5.0 OTA update except for the Android 8.0 Oreo update. From the same, it is clear that the update has brought in support for Parallel Apps, Picture-in-Picture mode, auto-fill, smart text selection, September security patch and the new Quick Settings design. In addition to these, the update has added new features such as notification dots, ability to upload photos directly to Shot on OnePlus and the new app folder design to the Launcher.

The official forum thread states:

We are pushing out the incremental roll-out of OxygenOS 5.0, our first official Android O OTA update for the OnePlus 3 and 3T. Here are some of the highlights of this build:

  • Update to Android O (8.0)
