OnePlus 6 Specifications, Release Date, Price, Leaks

Chinese smartphone manufacturer OPPO’s subsidiary startup brand OnePlus is reportedly working on their forthcoming flagship killer smartphone OnePlus 6. The smartphone will be succeeding the OnePlus 5T current protagonist from the Chinese company in the market across the globe. Like every year they do, this year’s flagship top-tier smartphone will be launched shortly. Ahead of the official debut, many rumours and leaks about the smartphone are popping up and going around. However, most of them give out almost a clear picture of the smartphone hardware specifications, features and appearance.

First of all, the OnePlus 6 will sport some significant changes in design and physical appearance aspects, especially with the form factor material. From an earlier leak, the OnePlus 6 was spotted to be shelled within a metal-glass body panel, which has some resemblance towards many other rival flagship devices launched this year so far. From the design aspect, the Camera department has been moved from top left corner to the middle portion, with a dual-lens setup. The reflective rear panel with curved edges may give you some impression of a resemblance towards Samsung Galaxy S9 or Apple iPhone X.

Here comes one of the most discussed topics while coming to the 2018-smartphones – A fingerprint scanner under the display. For those who all have been expecting an under screen fingerprint scanner by OnePlus, the company could not make both the ends meet at least this time. The fingerprint scanner under the display which is being used by many Chinese brands including Vivo is not much faster and secure as the conventional biometrics sensors. So, the OnePlus 6 will have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, under the primary camera module.

The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.2-inch display, with the aspect ratio of 18:9 or 19:9 depends on the notch. Well, there would be a top display notch in the OnePlus 6, just like Apple iPhone X, where the sensors will be placed in order to reduce the bezels to the least. The display resolution will be graded to an upper level, from Full HD to QHD+. We can expect either an AMOLED panel from Samsung or an OLED display panel from LG on the smartphone.

Coming to the other major hardware specifications of the smartphone, the OnePlus 6 can be categorised among other top-tier smartphones from other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The devices will be powered with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC which is clocked up to 2.8GHz at max. The Octa-COre processor comes with an inbuilt AI-Processing capability and an 18-core GPU which could make the manufacturer to integrate many features on the smartphones, and we could anticipate some Augmented/Mixed Reality feature on the device. Under the hood, the CPU will be paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, along with 128GB or 256GB internal storage space (which could be expanded in most cases).

The primary camera sensors of the smartphone will be of 16MP and 20MP combo. Among them, one will have an optical zoom capability (just like its predecessor). The company is to improve the image capturing technology, on both rear and front with a possible 8MP sensor. The battery pack will be boosted with 3,500mAH, with the support of company’s iconic DashCharge technology which is equivalent to QuickCharge by Qualcomm.

From the recent appearance of the smartphone in a leaked slide from China, the device spotted to be priced a little higher than the usual pricing pattern of their smartphones. The OnePlus 5T was launched with a price tag of $499 and was the choice of budget smartphone buyers who were seeking for some powerful devices at a catchy price range. Unfortunately, the company no longer launches flagship killer smartphones to make the technology affordable to everyone. The OnePlus 6 will be priced around $749, which is almost near to the Samsung Galaxy S9, Pixel 2 and many other higher priced devices. Nevertheless, this was not the pricing we all have been expecting from the firm like OnePlus.

We should wait for a couple more months or lesser to see the smartphone in real and confirm the official pricing and hardware details. Stay tuned to know more.
