Honor Magic 2 will launch in China on October 31; features a sliding camera

Huawei’s subbrand Honor just revealed some details about their upcoming flagship premium smartphone Honor Magic 2 through social media. The company does not hide anything mysterious in the teaser images and reveals the device name clearly. Considering the official teaser, the company is hosting a launch event for the smartphone by the end of this month, to be precise, on October 31st.

Huawei Magic 2 comes with an entirely sliding panel, which looks almost similar to the OPPO Find X at a glance from the front look. But the other teaser images reveals that the company has plans for a sliding front camera design and not a motorized elevating camera portion, unlike OPPO Find X. The manual sliding mechanism almost reminds us of the Nokia’s old sliding devices, especially from N-series. However, the entire body panel is divided for the sliding. The back panel slides upwards while the front is slid down. The company is clearly making an attempt to manufacture completely bezel-less displays.

We are not sure how durable the sliding smartphone would be. However, it might not last long since the sliding parts are completely outside the device and it slips between the back and front panel in a whole. The major hardware features might include the top-notch HiSIlicon Kirin 980 AI Chipset at 6GB RAM on the board, We are not enlightened with the other hardware specifications of the Honor Magic 2 smartphone.

Would the new sliding mechanism in Honor Magic 2 be better than the motorized parts in Vivo NEX and OPPO Find X? Comment your concerns.
