ASUS ROG Phone unveiled with Snapdragon 845 at Computex 2018

Taiwanese hardware manufacturer ASUS has unveils its first gaming smartphone from the legendary ROG (Republic Of Gamers) series. The new ROG Phone showcased in Computex Taipei 2018 Conference, among other gaming gears and laptops. The smartphone comes with powerful hardware specs and unique features to compete against other gaming smartphones including Xiaomi Blackshark, Razer Phone, and ZTE Red Magic. One of the sections where other brands showed off with unique technologies was the Cooling or thermal controlling. ASUS also not just behind in introducing new cooling method. The ROG Phone boasts a  3D vapor-chamber cooling system, the first among smartphones.

ASUS ROG PhoneComing to the hardware specifications, the ASUS ROG Phone features a 6.0-inch AMOLED display panel, having Full HD+ resolution. The screen has a refresh rate of 90Hz, which is enough to beat the Xiaomi’s Blackshark but lags behind the Razer Phone. Under the hood, the device carries a custom Snapdragon 845, which is overclocked up to 2.96GHz for the maximum performance. The unique cooling system also helps in maintaining the performance balance. The smartphone has only a single variant having 8GB RAM and up to 512GB of Internal Storage. The ASUS equips ultrasonic AirTrigger sensors with the smartphone to sense the AirTouch and intake as the touch inputs.

The rear panel sports a 12MP+8MP sensors, with AR-ready (Augmented Reality) technology. The battery pack of 4000 mAh offers continuous wi-fi connected gaming up to 7 hours.

ASUS also released several add-on gadgets for the device including AeroActive Cooler for extra cooling. The TwinView Dock that is available as optional equipment that can dock two smartphones side by side to get a multiscreen view. There is also a dock that airs the smartphone view to a larger screen (like TV or PC). The ASUS ROG Phone scores 304183 in AnTuTu, which is much higher than the current winner devices.
