Xiaomi India today has announced a two new set of color options for their midrange smartphone – Redmi Y2 in the country. The smartphone will be available in two more color options – mesmerizing blue and stunning black. There is no change in the hardware or other appearance factors.
This is not the first time the Chinese multinational budget smartphone brand launches a special edition blue color for their smartphones. Many of the former Redmi models including Redmi Note 4, Redmi 5A, etc. had the similar blue cor option, which they previously called Lake Blue. The all-new Mesmerizing Blue is no different from the latter. The second color option — Stunning black is also simply black in color with the same metal unibody design. With the release of new color options, the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 is now available in India in five colors – Dark Grey, Gold, Rose Gold, Stunning Black, and Mesmerizing Blue.
Redmi Y2, launched back in June, has become one among the most popular budget smartphones in the quarter. Still, the device is available only through the flash sale hosted weekly. Redmi Y2 comes with an HD+ 5.99-inch display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 under the hood, pairing 4 gigs of RAM. As a selfie-focused smartphone, the front-facing camera department comprises a 16MP sensors, whereas the rear camera department got a 12MP+5MP combo for the photography.
The smartphone is available to purchase through Amazon India or Mi.com at 12 noon every Friday, pricing starts at Rs. 9,999.
