Truecaller for Android gets updated with the support for Google Duo calls

Truecaller has released yet another update for their Android app. If you are using the app on your Android smartphone or tablet, you will see an update notification in the Google Play Store. It’s been just a few days after the last update. The last update added some UI tweaks and new features.

The new version of the Truecaller app for Android is 8.22 and it brings some new changes. Mainly, the update adds the support for Google Duo video calling. Now onwards, the app will show the calls from Google Duo app. Also, you can directly make a video call from the Truecaller app without opening the Google Duo app.

A few months ago, Truecaller has announced that they are tieing up with Google for bringing some connected features for the mobile users. As part of that, they added the support for Google Duo. Hopefully, the upcoming Android O might have some unique caller ID features based on the Truecaller.

This update is already available in iOS platform. Now it is coming to Android as well. In addition to the new Google Duo support, this update contains some optimizations which reduce the memory utilization (on the phone). Also, the size of the app has been decreased notably. Also, it adds a SIM indicator feature for dual-SIM enabled devices.
