OnePlus promised to fix the app locker bypass bug. If you are unaware of this, there is a bug in some OnePlus 5 devices, the built-in app locker can be easily bypassed by some simple steps. This was a huge flaw by the company as nowadays cybersecurity is becoming one of the most important discussion topics around. However, the officials from the company have announced that they will fix this issue with a software update.

As per the exclusive finding by the XDA Developers, this inbuilt app locker can be easily bypassed using a third party launcher app such as Nova Launcher. In order to bypass the native App Locker on OxygenOS, users simply need to add an activity shortcut to “App Locker” that can be found under Dashboard, as per the report. On tapping the shortcut, users will be able to get access to the App Locker settings without any need of a password. From there, you can easily switch the App Locker off and make it ineffective altogether, suggests XDA.

As a response to this issue, the OnePlus team told this: “We are aware of this issue, and we will be fixing it in an upcoming OTA.” So a much promised OTA update is on the way for the OnePlus 5 users, or the entire OxygenOS users.
