HMD launches Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6 (2018) in India

Nokia phones’ new Home HMD Global has just launched three new smartphones in India – Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus and the new Nokia 6 (2018). THe top-specced smartphones are equipped with top hardware features, and prices start from Rs. 16,999 and the flagship model Nokia 8 Sirocco is priced at Rs. 49,999. Interestingly, all the devices are released under Google’s Android One program. Along with the three new smartphones, the HMD India also announced a new online store for the Nokia smartphones in India.

All three smartphones will be available for pre-order from 20th April only, via many retailers across the country and the Nokia Store.

Nokia 8 Sirocco

Nokia 8 Sirocco is one of the newest flagship smartphones by the Finnish company. The smartphone features a Curved edge-to-edge 5.5-inch pOLED 2K display. The screen is protected by 3D Curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 toughened glass on the top. The display is not of 18:9 ratio, which most of the smartphones follow in these days. Nokia 8 Sirocco is powered with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835, which could be a disappointing fact considered among other top smartphones in the industry which are powered with the latest Qualcomm 845 SoC. The company offers 6GB of RAM paired with 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage space.

On the rear, the device sports a dual camera setup with ZEISS Optics lens. The primary sensors are of 12MP and 13MP, with the second one having a 2X Optical Zooming. The front-facing lens of 5MP has a wide-angle of 84-degrees and can shoot “Bothie” using both the front and rear camera simultaneously, even while in video chat. Out of the box, you will get Stock Android Oreo Operating System with assured periodical updates under Android One program. 

HMD has removed the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack and replaced it with USB Type-C, provided with a Type-C to 3.5mm converted. The battery pack of 3260mAh can be boosted up to 50% in 30 minutes using Fast Charger. Additionally, a Qi Wireless Charger is available with the smartphone. The smartphone will be available to pre-book from April 20 onwards, available in Black colour.

Nokia 7 Plus

Nokia 7 Plus has a 6-inch FullHD+ IPS LCD Display, having an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood, the smartphone holds Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC along with 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal Storage. The smartphone also has a dual-camera combo powred with ZEISS Optics lens. The 12MP Primary lens is coupled with a secondary 13MP lens capable of 2X Optical Zoom. You can also avail the Bothie feature in this smartphone.

The company claims that the device can withstand up to 2 days with its 3800mAh battery pack. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 25,999 in the country.

Nokia 6 (2018)

Nokia 6 is the successor variant of the first Nokia 6 launched earlier last year. The device has the same old 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD Display, powered with Snapdragon 630 Chipset on the board. The smartphone comes in two variants mainly – 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB, which can be extended up to 128GB via SD Card.The rear-facing lens combines a 16MP ZEISS lens, coupled with an 8MP front-facing camera. You can also get Android oreo on the smartphone.

Nokia 6 2018 smartphone offer 3000mAh battery, but no fast charging is enabled. The pricing list for the smartphone starts from Rs. 16,999.
