Galaxy S8 gets new update with August security patch

Samsung was very lazy in providing proper security patches and updates to their premium and mid-range device for a while. The company is now planning to launch their new flagship model Galaxy Note 9 globally. However, the company is now resuming their monthly update process. The Galaxy S8 devices are now receiving the software update with many bug fixes and the most important August security patches.

The company hasn’t yet announced the availability of this update on the devices. But many of our readers have already reported that they have received the update in their device. However, the update is not yet available for the Galaxy S8+ devices. So it looks like the update is specially created for the S8 devices only. The update weighs around 418.18MB and it brings the software version G950FXXU3CRGH to S8 devices.

In addition to the important Android monthly security patches, this update includes many improvements to the device including some bug fixes in the add-on features such as Game Launcher.  If you don’t see the update notification in your device, you can check, download, and install the update by going to Settings > Software Update > Download Updates Manually.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 64GB (SM-G9500) variant is usually been sold at CNY 5688 in China, but for now, it is available at 4999 Chinese Yuan. Coming to the Galaxy S8+ price tag, the 64GB version (SM-G9550) gets CNY 689 off from the original selling price listing, available to purchase at just CNY 5499. The 128GB variant (SM-G9550) of the Samsung Galaxy S8+ has also gotten the same amount of discount, converted the price from CNY 6988 to the reduced price value of CNY 6299..
