Android Oreo update for the Huawei Mate 9 is coming soon

Good news Mate 9 users. Huawei is preparing to release Android Oreo update for the Mate 9 devices. We’ve received more than 30 messages on our Facebook page regarding the availability of Oreo update for Huawei Mate 9. Now, we have a good news for you. A Huawei Mate 9 device running Android 8.0 Oreo spotted on a benchmarking website Geekbench.

Huawei Mate 9 features a tremendous massive 5.9-inch Full HD display, but only 373ppi on top.  The device is powered by Huawei in-house HiSilicon Kirin 960 System-on-Chip, clocked at 2.3GHz. For gaming performance, Huawei integrated Mali-G71MP8 GPU with Vulkan API OpenGL ES 3.2 support.

Under its hood, the RAM of 4GB LPDDR4 stays, coupled with storage space of 64GB, expandable up to 2TB. The smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat topped with EMUI v5. The fingerprint scanner is mounted in the middle of the rear panel.

There is also another Porsche variant launched by Huawei, with some extra tweaks over specs sheet. The Porsche Design Mate 9 is exclusively made with Supercar manufacturer Porsche, with 6GB RAM, Curved edge display, and 256GB Native storage space. Rest of the specifications are same.

We don’t have an official information about the availability of this update. However, it is expected to roll out in coming months.
