1)  Design and display

Meizu m3 Note is a mid range Android smartphone with 5.5 inch display. It is a full HD display and it posses 1080×1920 pixels resolution. If we looking more at the display part, we can understand that it is a 2.5D curved glass design. The display of the device is good in that category, but it is not excellent. Also it doesn’t stay better with the other devices in the same price. The brightness is not up to mark, because it is little bit fade than other devices. So it is very hard to read in sunlight. But for this price, Meizu trying their best to deliver the quality display as well. It is not enough for some pro users, but it is not too bad.

The design of the device is very nice as it feels like a premium device. Additionally,it features a physical Home button which also works as the fingerprint scanner. Which is nice and that physical Home button imparts more beauty to the device. The fingerprint scanner in the Home button is a nice thing, but it is not as much good because the scanner failed many times while testing the fingerprint unlocking feature. It features a metal body which gives a gorgeous look to the device. It also boosts the premium experience of m3 note.

 2) Software – Flyme OS

Just like all other models of Meizu, m3 Note also comes with the cool custom UI, Flyme. Flyme is a custom ROM developed exclusively for Meizu products. It is based on Android and it packs with some great tweaks and features with the full power of Android operating system. Meizu m3 note comes pre-installed with the Android Lollipop 5.1 with the custom UI, Flyme. If we use the Flyme ROM for some time, we will notice a big thing – Flyme OS is almost same as the Apple’s iOS user interface. The system animations, app menus, settings windows etc. are 90% same as the iOS. Simply, Flyme is an iOS inspired custom ROM like all Chinese based device ROMs. LeEco’s EUI, Xiaomi’s MIUI etc. are showing some small similarities to the iOS, but they are not much same as Flyme. Because in a funny way, we can say that Flyme is a modified form of iOS. The disappointing thing is that m3 Note still on Android lollipop instead of latest Marshmallow. But we can expect Marshmallow update in future. Because the device has the capability to run higher operating systems. One of the bad thing in the m3 note is that we can’t root the device. Root support not available for the software yet. It is a sad thing for some super users.

3) Camera

Meizu m3 Note Review : New experience on an affordable price 6Meizu packs the m3 note with one of the best quality cameras. You will get a 13 megapixel PDAF auto-focus main camera as well as a 5 megapixel front cam. For this pricing, the camera is awesome and is very suitable for this price. 13 megapizel PDAF auto-focus rear camera gives some cool pics even in low light as well as day light. The front camera is also good one, it gives some good selfies even in low light conditions. The 13 megapixel main camera of the Meizu m3 note uses cutting edge technology in both the sensor and the TrueBright ISP engine to ensure exquisite photos and videos. With advanced PDAF auto-focus technology, you can capture even more details. Overall, Meizu succeeded in providing importance in the camera part of the m3 note.

4) Performance and features

Meizu m3 note has some good features and specifications. And the specifications are really great in that price range, because it offers good hardware specs as well as features for only Rs. 9999. Which is the most inspiring  (somewhat innovative) factor in the Meizu m3 note.

As you already know, the devices which are running on Mediatek Helio processor are not much good. Because the Mediatek processor is not much good for the performance. So you will face a lot of performance issues in a Mediatek powered device. But Meizu m3 note rewrites the story. It runs flawlessly on the Mediatek Helio P10 processor which is clocked at 1.8 GHz. Meizu m3 note doesn’t lag or freeze while heavy usage like gaming. At the same time, 95% of  Mediatek powered devices are lagging while performing even small tasks. But the heavily customized Flyme OS cuts down the performance of the device in a small extent. m3 note has a 3GB of RAM and a 32GB of internal storage. You can also expand the storage space by adding microSD card and it will support up to 128GB. The storage is somewhat acceptable factor in m3 note. The 3GB RAM provides better processing and loading speed. If we are looking at the battery, we can see a 4,100 mAh battery.  This huge battery gives some good battery backup, but the heavily customized Flyme OS sucks the battery life. It lasts up to 2 days in normal usage.

The connectivity options are 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC. The device has some heating issues while playing heavy games and applications. But it is not very hot. As you know, devices with metal body will become more hot in heavy usage than in other devices. We hope a new OTA update in future will resolve the noticeable lags and heating issue.
