Honor 6X First Impressions & Hands-on Review

Huawei has just launched their latest mid-ranger smartphone from subsidiary brand Honor in the Indian market, Honor 6X. The smartphone comes with many highlighting features including a dual camera setup on the back. The smartphone has been unveiled by Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor, commented the device as “Excellent.”

The Honor 6X will have to be in a great competition with the other leading mid-ranger smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi, Lenovo, Motorola, etc. Although, the dual-camera setup on Honor 6X will have more strong consideration among customers, especially smartphone photography lovers.

The Honor 6X is packed inside a metal unibody shell, made of aluminum. The dual-camera and fingerprint scanner alignment show a resemblance to Huawei’s latest flagship smartphone Huawei Mate 9. The entire back panel is matte finished gold color, and the rest portion beyond antenna lines are bit glowy. Coming to the front panel, the front camera and proximity sensors ar placed on bothe sides of the speaker grill. The bezels are not at thin, and the bottom portion has an “honor” branding. The navigational buttons made on-screen which occupies some space on the screen. The loudspeaker grill and microphone are located at the bottom edge, with normal microUSB 2.0 port in the middle.

Huawei Honor 6X features a 5.5-inh full HD display with 2.5D Glass, Powered by Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 655 chipset paired with 3GB/4GB RAM. The internal storages variants are 32GB and 64GB, expandable up to 256GB through Hybrid SD Slot. The rear camera setup is a combination of 12MP and 2MP sensors. Huawei has enhanced the camera to take pictures entirely in low-light and with perfect Bokeh effects too. The front camera is 8MP. The Honor 6X runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 5.0 on top. The fingerprint scanner is very fast and ultrasensitive, which can even store the “fingerprint” of your pets to unlock the device. Also, the fingerprint scanner can also act as a multipurpose quick switch, for example, you can draw the notification panel and clear all notification by touching the scanner.

The smartphone is juiced up with 3340mAh battery pack, also supports 4G VoLTE. Huawei also introduced a feature named “WiFi Bridge” which acts as a WiFi Repeater and WiFi sharer for up to 4 devices.
