Sony releases June security patches for the Xperia XZ and X Performance

As you know, Sony is busy in marketing their new model Xperia XZ Premium in the United States. But still, they find time to treat their older devices well. Sony has rolled out a new update to the Xperia XZ and X Performance smartphone models. The new update is officially rolling out to the XZ and X Performance users globally.

The new update is an important one, but it is small update package. The update contains June security patches for the above-mentioned devices. So this is a most recommended update. The latest software version of the devices isĀ 41.2.A.7.8. Sony has confirmed this news about the update.

The Android Security Bulletin contains details of security vulnerabilities affecting Android devices. Security patch levels of June 05, 2017 or later address all of these issues.The most severe of these issues is a critical security vulnerability in Media Framework that could enable a remote attacker using a specially crafted file to cause memory corruption during media file and data processing.

At the same time, this update doesn’t contain any other improvements or new features. There are no other known changes. It contains the Android security patches only. The update weighs around 306MB and you can download it now from the update servers directly. Your phone will notify when the update is available for your device.
