Samsung launches Galaxy J3 in India with S Bike Mode

In-order to take down the Entry-Level smartphone market again, Samsung has launched the device Samsung Galaxy J3 today in India, which has already gone sale in China and on-the-way to US. The Galaxy J3 is a budget entry-level smartphone with some value for money specifications included.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 featuring an AMOLED HD display sized at 5 inch. Luckily, the Indians can buy the Galaxy J3 with slightly upgraded CPU than international versions, a Quad-Core Chipset clocked at 1.5GHz. RAM of 1.5GB and 8GB Storage space also power up the device. It sports a primary camera of 8MP and a 5MP secondary one.

The battery pack of Samsung Galaxy J3 is juiced up of 2,600mAh, which seems enough for running an entry-level smartphone for several hours. Connectivity features includes a 4G LTE Chip too. Android 5.1 will run on the board of device. The ultra Data saving technology is also used in the Galaxy J3 to save the data usage up to 50%, which has been used earlier in other devices in J series of line.

The main feature of the Samsung Galaxy J3, boasted by Samsung is the “S Bike Mode”. Samsung also has teased about this function using a hashtag ” #TapKickVroom “, but it was unclear what the feature would be. Now the Samsung unveils it. The S Bike Mode allows the user to quick reply to calls and messages while riding, by attending or send pre-stored messages using NFC tags. The features of S Bike Mode are :

  • NFC Tag – The NFC tag comes with Samsung Galaxy J3 can be stick over fuel tank or helmet, or anywhere else on the bike. The device can be connected to it through direct NFC contact or through the S Bike panel on device.
  • Urgent Call Alert – If anybody calls you riding bike, the caller will be informed as you are currently riding a bike. There is an option for caller to press 1 by informing the call as Urgent.
  • Motion Lock – When the caller choose the Urgent call option, you will get notified and you can choose to attend the call. But attending call will be work if and only if you have stopped the bike.

Dimensionally, Samsung Galaxy J3 is a sleek device, with thickness of 7.9mm. Ring around device is made of metal, but the build quality of plastic panel seems to have a fair quality.
